Robinho struggled in the Premier League after his £32 move to the Etihad, later returning on loan to Santos, before a five-year spell in Italy with AC Milan.

He is now back in Brazil with Atletico Mineiro, aged 33, following a brief sojourn in China with Guangzhou Evergrande.

Former City teammate and compatriot Jo recently recalled a story prior to Robinho’s first start for the Sky Blues against Portsmouth.
