Spokesman for the Iraqi Ministry of Interior Brigadier General Saad Maan said that “there is a lot of fabrication and rumours and false news” regarding reports of violations against human rights and abuse of power in the battle of Tal Afar, speaking at the Pentagon in Washington DC, Thursday.
SOT, Brigadier General Saad Maan, spokesman for the Iraqi Ministry of Interior (Arabic): “In relation to the battle in Tal Afar or what we quite frankly need from the coalition, on top of what has been mentioned by Brigadier general Jahija and the Prime Minister [Haider al-Abadi], who stated three days ago, who was very clear in his statement, he stated: we will not [have] anyone to commit violations against human rights or abuse of power. If there was any controversy or issue, there was an immediate investigation, whether it was an individual behaviour because we need to make sure that they don’t relate to the military institutions. There are individuals who are.. There are those who would like to make those victories made by the military of Iraq look not as significant. So there is a lot of fabrication and rumours and false news regarding what happened there.” *MULTIPLE SHOTS AT SOURCE* *TRANSLATION OVERLAID AT SOURCE*
